🏢 Executive Leadership
James Mwangi – Founder & CEO
James founded Gold Traders International in 2019 after a 20‑year career in international finance and mining. Previously a managing director at a top‑tier investment bank in London, he returned to his native Uganda to build a company that would bring global standards to the local gold sector. James holds an MBA from INSEAD and is a recognised advocate for ethical sourcing in East Africa.
Dr. Sarah Nabatanzi – Chief Operating Officer
Sarah brings over 15 years of experience in mining operations and supply chain management across Africa. With a PhD in Geology from the University of the Witwatersrand, she oversees all operational aspects, from mine partnerships to export logistics. Sarah is a passionate advocate for women in mining and leads our community engagement programmes.
Michael Okello – Chief Financial Officer
Michael is a chartered accountant (ACCA) with extensive experience in commodity finance and risk management. Before joining, he was CFO of a major agricultural export house in Uganda. He ensures financial transparency, manages treasury operations, and structures our trade finance solutions.
Elizabeth Kuteesa – Head of Compliance & Legal
Elizabeth is a qualified solicitor with dual qualifications in Uganda and England. She specialises in international trade law and anti‑money laundering regulations. She leads our compliance team, ensuring all operations meet the highest legal and ethical standards.

David Ssekitoleko – Head of Trading
David has 12 years of experience in precious metals trading, having worked for a leading bullion bank in Dubai. He manages our trading desk, pricing, and client relationships. His deep market knowledge ensures competitive pricing and optimal execution.
Grace Achieng – Logistics Manager
Grace oversees all shipping and warehousing operations. With a background in international logistics, she coordinates with Brinks and Loomis to ensure every shipment is secure and on time. Grace holds a certification in supply chain management from Kühne Logistics University.
Dr. Robert Musoke – Chief Assayer
Robert is a metallurgist with a PhD from the Colorado School of Mines. He leads our assay laboratory, ensuring all gold is tested to LBMA standards. Robert has published extensively on fire assay techniques and works closely with our partner labs.
Fatima Nakanwagi – Client Relations Manager
Fatima is the primary point of contact for many of our international clients. With a background in international business, she ensures seamless communication and tailored service. Fluent in English, French, and Swahili, she bridges cultures effortlessly.
